He built a mud fort, which marked the beginning of the city. In the 2000s, the city turned out to be one of the biggest IT hubs. Among the 30 districts in Karnataka, Bangalore Rural District is also there. It was established in 1986 when the city was divided into Bangalore (Rural) and Bangalore (City).
