The ISKCON Temple Bangalore, is also known as Sri Radha Krishna Temple, which is built on a hillock called Hare Krishna Hill. It has been an essence of peace since its beginning in 1997. It is one of the biggest ISKCON temples in the world and is the best place for spiritual landmarks in the city.

Prestige Raintree Park, which is an upcoming township project in Bangalore, is just 28 km from the ISKCON temple. It will take 45 minutes to reach the temple through the HAL Old Airport Road and residents of Prestige Rain Tree Park can reach the ISKCON temple easily.

History of the Temple

The temple was inaugurated by the 9th president of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma, in May 1997. The society was registered in 1978, and the objectives of the society are from the Seven Purposes of ISKCON, which Srila Prabhupada stated. The temple is dedicated to Hindu deities and propagates monotheism, as stated in Chandogya Upanishad.

  • Main deities of Radha-Krishna
  • Srinivasa Govinda
  • Prahlada Narasimha
  • Krishna Balrama
  • Nitai Gauranga
  • Srila Prabhupada

Features of the temple

  • There is a gold-plated flag post, which is 17 m high.
  • There is a gold-plated kalash shikhara, which is 8.5 m high. There is free distribution of prasad to all guests during the Darshana hours.
  • The day begins at 4:30 with a ritual called mangala-arati and it is followed by worship for Sri Srinivasa Govinda.
  • In the main temple, an arati is performed by 3 priests.
  • It is followed again by kirtan, where disciples can be seen dancing greatly to the rhythm of Hare Krishna Hare Rama.

The timings of the temple are

Morning

  • 4:30 AM - 5:20 AM and 7:15 AM - 1:15 PM

Evening

  • 4:15 PM - 8:00 PM

Weekends and public holidays

  • Temple is open full day from 7:15 AM - 8:00 PM

Dress Code for the temple

  • As a sign of respect, only formal or traditional attire must be worn
  • Avoid shorts and casual clothing for the temple

Entry Fee for ISKCON Temple Bangalore

  • The entry is free of cost
  • Nominal charges are there for parking and footwear stand

The temple provides free food to those who are in need. Members of the temple start the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
